Mother's Day: Prepare Something Sweet for Mom

For Mother's Day we tried out a sour cream cornbread recipe that was moist, a little sweet and simply delicious. Try this one next time you prepare a special meal for Mom.

Sour Cream Cornbread Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup Hall's white stone ground cornmeal
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 tsp. baking soda

Directions:

  • Heat oven to 425°F. Grease 9-inch round cast iron skillet.
  • Blend butter and sugar in bowl. Beat on medium speed until creamy. Add 1 egg, at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in sour cream and milk. Add all remaining ingredients; beat on a low speed until mixed.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 22-25 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
