For Mother's Day we tried out a sour cream cornbread recipe that was moist, a little sweet and simply delicious. Try this one next time you prepare a special meal for Mom.
Sour Cream Cornbread Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup Hall's white stone ground cornmeal
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 tsp. baking soda
Directions:
- Heat oven to 425°F. Grease 9-inch round cast iron skillet.
- Blend butter and sugar in bowl. Beat on medium speed until creamy. Add 1 egg, at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in sour cream and milk. Add all remaining ingredients; beat on a low speed until mixed.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 22-25 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
