Family Traditions: New Year's Celebrations Made Special
Share
Celebrating New Year's Day is a great family tradition. On this day, the Halls prepare a special meal inclusive of black-eyed peas for luck and prosperity, greens for money, and cornbread which represents gold. In Southern folklore, this meal is considered the great New Year’s triad. Comment, and share your family traditions, we would love to hear from you.
The “Jack Hardwick” family grew up making corn bread from Halls Meal and daughters Joy & Merry and granddaughter Michelle still do today.
